Rudolf Lenk

Rudolf Lenk , pseudonym Rudolf Aister , (born November 29, 1886 in Ried in der Riedmark , † August 12, 1966 in Linz ) was an Austrian educator , author and politician ( NSDAP ).

Life

Rudolf Lenk grew up in Freistadt , where he graduated from the State High School in 1905. He then studied German and English at the University of Vienna , where he received his doctorate in 1909. In 1911 he passed the teaching examination for secondary schools and then worked as a teacher at Viennese high schools. In 1921 he came to Linz , where he taught at the Khevenhüller Gymnasium Linz and was provisional director from 1935 to 1936. In 1932 he joined the National Socialist Teachers' Association and was its cell and district manager, also in 1932 he joined the NSDAP and published under the pseudonym Rudolf Aister in the NS magazine Der Führer , published in Wels . In 1936, Lenk was not appointed director of the Khevenhüllergymnasium because of his National Socialist sentiments.

After the annexation of Austria in 1938, Lenk became managing director of the regional school council and regional councilor for education, culture and popular education in Upper Danube under Gauleiter August Eigruber , and he remained until 1945. From 1938 to 1944 he was also President of the Association for Regional Studies and Homeland Care in the Gau Oberdonau . In 1945 he was the official interpreter when the city of Linz was handed over to the American occupation forces.

After the Second World War, Lenk was arrested and a case started against him, whereby he was pardoned by the Austrian Federal President in 1950.
