Rudolf Luginbühl
Rudolf Luginbühl (born October 22, 1854 in Biglen , † November 22, 1912 in Basel ) was a Swiss historian .
life and work
After the primary school teacher license in 1873 and the secondary teacher license six years later, Rudolf Luginbühl taught at various schools in Bern and from 1883 as a secondary teacher in Basel. At the same time, he studied history and received his doctorate from the University of Bern in 1892. From 1893 he taught at the University of Basel as a private lecturer in modern Swiss history and from 1905–1912 as an associate professor. Luginbühl supervised various source editions and wrote textbooks on Swiss history and world history for various levels of instruction as well as a Basel local history.
