Isidore Raphael Pellegrini
Isidor Raphael Pellegrini (born January 6, 1871 in Basel ; † September 18, 1954 there ; entitled to live in Stabio and Basel) was a Swiss architect and sculptor .
Isidor Raphael Pellegrini was born as the son of the stone sculptor Isidor Pellegrini (1841-1887) and Apollonia born Schlueb (1837-1907) from Ticino. His younger brother was the painter Alfred Heinrich Pellegrini . After the early death of his father, he took over the sculpting business. In 1896 he planned the villa for the textile manufacturer Ernst Handschin-Spiess at Rickenbacherstrasse 2 in Gelterkinden, which Fritz Pümpin acquired in 1945.
After the famous model " Harr Ender angel of justice " (forerunner of the Last Judgment) by Giulio Monteverde on the monumental cemetery Staglieno in Genoa (another copy on the Frankfurt Hauptfriedhof ) he created the marble angel for the family grave Schetty-Haas / Resch-Haas (original location Horburg -Gottesacker) as well as other sculptures and tombstones in the Wolfgottesacker cemetery in Basel .
