Life
Rudolf Maeglin came from a middle-class background, his father was a wine merchant, his mother came from a family of silk manufacturers in Basel. After graduating from high school , he first studied medicine, took the state examination in 1918 and then assisted at the Geneva Cantonal Hospital . In 1919 he gave up the medical profession and became an artist. In 1921 he toured Italy. From 1936 Maeglin worked as a freelancer. He mainly made woodcuts, and later became a member of the XYLON woodcutter association .
