Rudolf Maier (District Administrator)

Rudolf Maier (* 11. May 1886 in Löffingen ; † 19th June 1962 in Tuttlingen ) was 1934-1939 Bailiff of Baden District Office Ueberlingen and after its renaming 1939-1945 District Administrator of the district Ueberlingen . Maier took over his office from Kurt Sander in 1934 and was the Überlinger administrative board member during the Second World War . His successor in office was Franz Illner .

During the tenure of Rudolf Maier, who had a doctorate, in 1936 the offices of Überlingen and Pfullendorf were merged to form the office of Überlingen, from which the Überlingen district emerged in 1939.

During his studies in 1906 he became a member of the Allemannia Heidelberg fraternity .

From 1950, Maier, who lived in Überlingen after his retirement, was the first chairman of the Association for Pile Building and Local History, which runs the Pile Building Museum in Unteruhldingen .

Rudolf Maier is buried in the family grave of his wife Eugenie in the old cemetery in Tuttlingen.
