Rudolf Moratti

Rudolf Moratti (born August 31, 1942 in Steyr , Austria ; † March 5, 2000 in Vienna ) was an Austrian sculptor and member of the Vienna Secession and the Graz Artists' Association . In 1981 he was a member of the board of IG Bildende Kunst Austria.

Education

Rudolf Moratti studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna , where he was a student of Fritz Wotruba and Wander Bertoni . He completed his studies in 1975 at the Academy of Fine Arts under Professor Fritz Wotruba.

Sculpture in Sigmund Freud Park

In the Sigmund Freud Park in Vienna there is a sculpture by Moratti, which is composed of three marbles , marble from Sterzing, Carrara marble and Saubsdorf marble . At the landing stage at the Stein-Krems Danube bridge , he created a stone sculpture that hovers on a tripod . In 1981 he was one of the participants in the St. Margarethen Sculpture Symposium .

In the parish church of Kleinwarasdorf (Mali Borištof) there has been an altar , ambo (standing desk) and sessio (prominent seat for the priest) by Moratti since the mid-1990s , and he also created a sculpture for the so-called KUGA in Großwarasdorf (Veliki Borištof) ). During the summer he lived and worked in Kleinwarasdorf, a place in Burgenland that is 80 percent inhabited by Burgenland Croats. He was buried in an honorary grave in the Ehrenhain (group 40) at the Vienna Central Cemetery.
