Life
Muchow was the son of the judge Dr. Ludwig Muchow, who worked at the district court. He attended the Berthold-Gymnasium in Freiburg and had his final exam at Easter 1910. He then studied at the Kassel Art Academy and became a professor of fine arts at the Frankfurt a. M. and later from 1930 to 1932 at the Pedagogical Academy in Stettin . In the 1930s his work was characterized by an achromatic expressiveness. From 1946 his abstract, fantastic graphics show a closeness to Willi Baumeister , with whom he was friends. His daughter later founded the Muchow gallery in Freiburg.
