Rudolf Ottlyk

Rudolf Ottlyk (born May 23, 1920 in Innsbruck ; † February 10, 2007 in Mieming ) was an Austrian manager and executive chairman from 1953 to 1957 and president of FC Wacker Innsbruck from 1966 to 1968 .

life and career

Rudolf Ottlyk was part of the resistance movement against the National Socialists in Innsbruck and later ran a car dealership in Imst. He already played in the youth team of FC Wacker Innsbruck. After the Second World War he took part in the club and was elected executive chairman from 1953 to 1957. He signed the lease for the property on which the old Wacker-Platz was built in 1953. In that year the club rose to the state league, 1958 in the Arlbergliga and 1964 in the state league. In 1966 Ottlyk was re-elected and in 1967 he became chairman of the National League Game Committee, an office he did not hold for long because of unfair behavior. His presidency ended in 1968 after internal disagreements and Erwin Steinlechner became Wacker President. Ottlyk died in Mieming in 2007 at the age of 87.
