Rudolf Piernay

Rudolf Piernay (born December 8, 1943 in Güstrow ) is a German singing teacher and university teacher.

Life

He spent his childhood, youth and his first studies in Berlin, then he began studying singing, piano, accompaniment and conducting in London. He had been teaching at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama since 1974 and was also professor at the Mannheim University of Music since 1991 . In 2014 he retired.

His students include a. Bryn Terfel , Markus Brutscher , Melanie Diener , Hanno Müller-Brachmann , Elisabeth Rauch, Caroline Melzer, Michael Volle , Stephanie Hampl , Hanna-Elisabeth Müller , Jens Hamann, James Martin, Martin Wistinghausen and Konrad Jarnot .

Rudolf Piernay also appears as a concert and lied singer in the bass-baritone range. He is a lecturer for master classes.
