Konrad Jarnot

Konrad Jarnot (* 1972 in Brighton , UK ) is a British opera singer ( baritone ) and vocal teacher.

Life

Jarnot studied singing with Rudolf Piernay at the Guildhall in London, where he was awarded the gold medal, and with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau . After his first prize at the ARD music competition 2000 in Munich, the music world became aware of the young baritone.

Invitations have taken him to the Royal Opera House Covent Garden London, Lincoln Center New York, Teatro Real Madrid, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées Paris, Wiener Konzerthaus , International Forum Tokyo, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and Salzburg, Tonhalle Zurich , Konzerthaus Berlin, Philharmonie Cologne and Munich.

As an opera singer, Jarnot sang the following roles so far: Amfortas (3rd act Parsifal , concertante: Monte-Carlo, Frankfurt), drum major ( Wozzeck (Gurlitt): Madrid), Guglielmo ( Così fan tutte : Savonlinna), Onegin ( Eugene Onegin : Baden- Baden) and Harlequin ( Ariadne auf Naxos : Garmisch).

As a lieder singer, he was active worldwide with the pianists Helmut Deutsch , Hartmut Höll , Irwin Gage and Alexander Schmalcz and was a guest in recording studios. CDs are available from Orfeo, Oehms Classics and Harmonia Mundi.

In addition to his vocal activities, Jarnot received a professorship for voice at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf in 2009 .
