Rudolf Schaefer

Rudolf Schaefer (born April 20, 1896 , † January 14, 1979 ) was a German medic .

Schäfer studied medicine at the University of Königsberg , where he received his doctorate in 1922 and completed his habilitation in internal medicine in 1927 . As a private lecturer, he was given leave of absence from the University of Königsberg to move to the St. Johannes Hospital in Dortmund as chief physician in the internal department . Because of a chronic illness, he had to look for a less physically demanding job. He trained as an ophthalmologist at the University Eye Clinic of the Charité in Berlin .
