Rudolf Schindler (politician)

Rudolf Schindler (born September 2, 1917 in Gera ; † May 13, 1990 ) was a German party functionary of the GDR block party NDPD . He was chairman of the Erfurt district board and the Potsdam district board of the NDPD.

Life

Schindler, son of an employee, attended middle school and learned the trade of druggist . Schindler took part in the Second World War as an officer and was taken prisoner by the British and was able to flee.

In 1945 Schindler returned to Germany and joined the National Democratic Party of Germany (NDPD). He was senior consultant in the State Health Office and in the Ministry of Health of the State Government of Thuringia . From 1950 he was a member of the Erfurt district executive of the NDPD. From 1952 to 1955 he was a member of the Erfurt District Assembly . From 1953 to 1955 he acted as chairman of the NDPD district board in Erfurt and then from 1955 to 1967 as chairman of the NDPD district board in Potsdam. From 1953 to 1967 he was also a member of the main committee of the NDPD. From 1967 he was editor of the NDPD organ “ Brandenburgische Latest Nachrichten ” and then director of the association of the NDPD's own organizations “National”.

In 1958, Schindler was a founding member of the Association of Former Officers (AeO).
