The Raion Franko (Ukrainian Франківський район / Frankowskyj rajon ; Russian Франковский район / Frankowski rajon ) is one of the six city rajons of the western Ukrainian city of Lviv .
The name is derived from the name of the Ukrainian writer Iwan Franko , it is located south of the center of the city of Lviv and includes the districts / neighborhoods:
- Na bajkach / Nowyj Swit (На байках / Новий Світ; Polish Nowy Świat )
- Bohdaniwka (Богданівка; Polish Bogdanówka )
- Kulparkiw (Кульпарків; Polish Kulparków , German formerly Goldberghof )
- Kasteliwka (Кастелівка, Polish Kastelówka )
- Wulka (Вулька, Polish Wulka )
The raion was created on April 15, 1973 under the name Sovietsk Rajon (Советский район) or Ukrainian Rajon Radjansk (Радянський район) and was renamed on February 3, 1993 to its current name.
