Rudolf Sieckenius (born August 18, 1896 in Ludwigsthal ; † April 28, 1945 at Märkisch-Buchholz ) was a German officer , most recently major general in World War II .

Life

Sieckenius served as a reserve lieutenant in the Bavarian army during the First World War . After the war he entered the police force . During the Second World War, as Lieutenant Colonel, he was in command of the 2nd Panzer Regiment and was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on September 17, 1941 . In 1943 he commanded the 16th Panzer Division in France and Italy and in mid-1944 the 263rd Infantry Division . As a major general and commander of the interruption 391.
