Rudolf Thieme

Rudolf Thieme (born June 7, 1925 ) is a former German soccer player. In the 1950/51 season he played for Rotation Dresden in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

Rudolf Thieme won the Saxon soccer cup with SG Dresden-Mickten in 1949 and the soccer championship in Saxony in 1950. In the playoff for the 1950s championship against SG Lauter , he scored the 1-0 in a 3-1 victory as a right winger. In the subsequent round of promotion, in the course of which the SG Mickten was incorporated into the company sports community (BSG) Sachsenverlag Dresden, Thieme was also involved with one goal in the 21 goals scored. The Dresdeners won the promotion round and rose to the GDR league. They started under the new name BSG Rotation at the beginning of the 1950/51 season and had Rudolf Thieme in the team. He was also used as a right winger in the first league game at home against Rotation Babelsberg and scored the equalizer for Dresden in the 1-1 draw. Up to the 6th matchday he was called up four times as a midfielder, then he was only used once on the 25th matchday. In the following season, Rudolf Thieme was no longer in the squad of Rotation Dresden and later no longer played in higher-class football.
