Rudraprayag is a small town in the Indian state of Uttarakhand . The city lies at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers and was damaged by floods in 2013.

The city is the capital of the Rudraprayag district . Rudraprayag has the status of a Nagar Palika Parishad . The city is divided into 9 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census it had a total of 9,313 inhabitants, of which 5,240 were men and 4,073 were women. Hindus form the largest group of the city's population with a share of approx. 95%, followed by Muslims with approx. 4%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 93.43%.

The Rudraprayag leopard was a male, man-eating leopard that is believed to have killed more than 125 people. It was eventually killed by the hunter and author Jim Corbett . The story was filmed in 2005.
