The Rue Perdonnet is a street in the Quartier Saint-Vincent-de-Paul of the 10th arrondissement in Paris .

Rue Perdonnet runs from northeast to southwest and begins at number 214, Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis and at number 24, Rue Cail . It ends after 196 meters at No. 21, Boulevard de la Chapelle and No. 33, Rue Philippe-de-Girard . Rue Perdonnet, located between the platforms of Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord , crosses Rue Louis-Blanc at 13, 15, 16 and 18 .

Name origin

The road was completed in 1866 and has been named after the engineer Albert Auguste Perdonnet , who became known as a railway pioneer , since August 10, 1868 . The name was also chosen in view of the proximity to the Gare du Nord .

The uniform development, with six-story houses and alternating facade decorations, has been preserved from the time the street was built.

The former Pferdemetzgerei on the corner of Rue Cail / Rue Perdonnet since 1984 as a monument ( monument historique protected).
