Ruedi Rüfenacht

Ruedi Rüfenacht (actually Rudolf Rüfenacht ; born July 10, 1964 in Affoltern am Albis ) is a Swiss politician ( EPP ). He is the city ​​president of the political municipality of Wetzikon .

Life

Ruedi Rüfenacht grew up in the Bernese Mittelland. In Ersigen he completed an apprenticeship as a structural draftsman. He completed his basic training at the recruiting school in Isone and then moved to Dübendorf in 1984 , where he worked as a structural draftsman and construction manager in Zurich until 1995 . In 1988, he trained as a construction manager while working. In addition to his job, he graduated as an architect at the evening technical center in Zurich in 1994 and in 2007 a post-graduate MBA industrial engineering degree from the Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences in Zurich . Since 1995 he has been working for Hirzel Generalunternehmung, a construction company in Wetzikon, first as a project manager, then as general planner and since 2006 as managing director.

He has lived in Wetzikon since 1996. He is married and has a son and a daughter.

politics

From 2006 Ruedi Rüfenacht was a member of the Wetzikon municipal council, from 2008 in the civil engineering and planning departments. From 2010 he was the first vice-president of the planning and sport department on the municipal council. In 2014 he was elected mayor of Wetzikon, succeeding the mayor Urs Fischer ( FDP ), who was in office from 2006 to 2014. This took two rounds of voting. Rüfenacht was the first city president of Wetzikon, before there was a community assembly in Wetzikon instead of a community parliament. In 2018 Ruedi Rüfenacht was re-elected, also in the second ballot.
