Ruff (born March 13, 1986 in Uster , Canton Zurich ; actually Raffaele de Pasquale ) is a Swiss rapper.

biography

Raffaele de Pasquale is the son of Italian parents and grew up in Uster near Zurich. After a broken apprenticeship as a plumber, he began to be interested in rap music at the age of 16. Under the name Ruff, he first made recordings with the rapper Despot and with the SRS crew , and performed jointly. In 2006 he won his first battle with his own song Liebi zu Stift . Further successes in various competitions followed. After completing his training as a painter, there was a longer collaboration with Sylo .

With the single Mir are alli Eis , he turned against xenophobia in 2013 and later named his own label after it. The accompanying album MSA1 also led to his first television appearance on the Joiz broadcaster . With the rapper Limmitt from Urdorf and the song Goldige Vorhang , he won another local competition in 2014 and also made several publications.

He then made his breakthrough in September 2018 with the solo album Vo Nüt zu Was! . It entered the Swiss charts at number 23.
