The Rugg Peak is a turn 1500 m high mountain at the Graham Coast of Graham lands north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises on the east side of the Widmark-Piedmont Glacier south of Crookes Peak .
Aerial photos by Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd. from 1956 and 1957 were used by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey to map the mountain. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1959 after the British eye surgeon Andrew Rugg-Gunn (1884–1972), a pioneer in the development of protective goggles against snow blindness .
