Bomgaden ruins

The ruins of a fortified tower on the banks of the Lenne in Siesel (town of Plettenberg ) are called the Bomgaden ruins .

history

The Bomgaden was first mentioned in a document in 1346 when Adolf II of the Mark gave the Heidenreich von Plettenberg the court to the Bomgaden for 70 Marks as a fief . Presumably it consisted of a castle house that stood on a hill on the banks of the Lenne and was secured by a rampart and a moat.

In the 17th century the complex had already fallen into disrepair, today only a 13 meter long wall remains. The site is owned by Mark-E .
