The Engelburg ruins , formerly also known as Biberburg , are the remains of a hilltop castle on a hilltop above the Mühlhausen district north of Mönchfeldstrasse in the state capital of Stuttgart in Baden-Württemberg .
The remains of the castle are probably at the point of the documentary mentioned by 700 Biberburg the Alemanni Duke Gottfried .
Between 1260 and 1280 a new castle was built on the site, presumably by the Lords of Blankenstein. The name of the castle could also be the last descendant of the Lords of Kaltental , Engelbold (as bold as an angel). In 1312, during the Imperial and City War, the castle was destroyed. Only the foundations of the former castle can be seen.
