The Rumdoodle Lake is an almost round 5 hectares large and permanent zugefrorener Lake in East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . In the Framnes Mountains , it is in the immediate vicinity of Rumdoodle Peak in the North Masson Range .
The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it in 1983 based on the naming of the neighboring mountain. Its namesake is the novel The Ascent of the Rum Doodle by the British writer William Ernest Bowman from 1956, which is one of the most widely read works on Mawson Station .
