history

Broadcasting began on March 1, 1997. The broadcasting house and the headquarters are in Eschwege, studios can be found e.g. Currently in Witzenhausen (under construction) and in Wanfried. Over the years, three more terrestrial transmitters in Witzenhausen , Hessisch Lichtenau and Sontra were put into operation, which are fed from Eschwege. The transmission area essentially comprised the Werra-Meißner district . With the switch to DAB + in the summer of 2018, digital distribution was expanded to include the Biedenkopf, Fulda, Habichtswald and Hoher Meißner locations. Over 2 million listeners in the Gießen / Marburg, Kassel / Eschwege and Alsfeld / Fulda area as well as in the neighboring southern Hesse, northern Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, southern Lower Saxony and Thuringia can receive the private multiplex on channel 6A.

At the same time, for cost reasons, the VHF locations in Hessisch Lichtenau and Sontra were shut down and the feed into the cable network was abandoned.
