Runestone Vg 151

The rune stones of Eggvena ( Samnordisk runtextdatabas Vg 151 and Vg 152) are in Herrljunga in Västergötland in Sweden . The rune stones are linguistically and decoratively similar . Both stones were probably carved by the same rune master .

The rune stone Vg 151 is a rune stone from the Viking Age that can be found in the Eggvena church ( ). The stone made of gneiss is 1.35 m high, 1.15 m wide at the base and 0.2 m thick. The rune height is 15.0 to 17.0 cm.

The RAK rune stone style script is clear, deep and even and reads:

"Uifast: risþi: st (i)……… ʀ: uifa: hrþa: kuþan: þigens".

Translated: "Vifast set this stone after Vive, a very good man."

Runestone Vg 152

The rune stone Vg 152 is on the road, south of the Eggvena church ( ). It was moved to a location about five meters northeast of the road in 1993. It is 2.25 meters high, 2 meters wide, 0.25 meters thick and made of gneiss.

The RAK runestone style inscription reads:

"Gunnvar put this stone after Kane, her husband, a very good man".
