Rupert Mayr
Rupert Mayr (* 1948 in Wildschönau ) is an Austrian teacher, beekeeper and nonfiction - author .
Life
Rupert Mayr grew up in a mountain farmer family with many children. He spent his youth in Wildschönau / Tyrol . There he lived for a time as a dairy farmer on the alpine pastures. This was followed by training at the Agricultural State College in Rotholz and at the Higher Federal College for Alpine Agriculture in Raumberg, as well as graduating from the Pedagogical Academy in Innsbruck (teaching post for elementary school, secondary school and polytechnic school). In a large farm in England he took part in a federal trial and thereby gained practice.
He worked at the multi-award-winning (Austrian School Prize for Innovation and School Development) Landhauptschule Niederndorf as a biology teacher and as headmaster from 2000 until his retirement in 2009. After his retirement, Rupert Mayr took over the honorary position of provincial chairman of the 113 Tyrolean fruit and horticultural associations with more than 18,000 members. Mayr has been married since 1973, has four children and lives in Niederndorf .
He is also a delegate of the Austrian Beekeeping Association at international congresses, founding chairman of the fruit and horticultural association in Niederndorf / Untere Schranne and honorary chairman of the Niederndorf band. He acts as a specialist for organic farmers, horticultural and beekeeping associations and leads training courses for biology teachers.
