Ruppertsberger Reiterpfad

Reiterpfad is the name of a vineyard in the municipality of Ruppertsberg ( Rhineland-Palatinate ). Their vineyards cover 77.4 hectares .

Location, climate, soils

The equestrian path belongs to the Palatinate wine-growing region and here to the Mittelhaardt-German Wine Route area . It is a single site that belongs to the Deidesheimer Hofstück large site . It is located entirely within the Ruppertsberg district. The area is at a height of 130 to 190  m above sea level. NHN , it's 100% pending. It rises towards the Palatinate Forest in the west, which protects the equestrian path from precipitation in its lee .

The grounds of the equestrian trail consist of sand and loamy sand interspersed with stones; particularly along the Haardt edge it these are red sandstone .

Surname

The first mention of the name was in the 15th century "in the Rutterpfade". Possibly the name can be derived from the Latin rutarius , the soldier of a gang ; with “Reiterpfad” originally an army path would have been meant.

Another vineyard called "Reiterpfad" can be found in the neighboring municipality of Königsbach an der Weinstrasse .
