The Ruppertskopf has a summit height of 413.6  m above sea level. NN and on the south side belongs to the corridor of Wolfsburg-Unkeroda in the Wartburg district in Thuringia , the north side belongs to the urban area of Eisenach .

The Ruppertskopf is located on the Rennsteig , on the ridge of the western Thuringian Forest . On the western flank of the mountain at the border point “Vachaer Stein”, the federal road 84 from Förtha as the successor to the medieval “Frankfurter Straße” leads over the ridge of the mountains to Eisenach. On the south side of the mountain, numerous pings and heaps refer to the old mine (modern shaft on the outskirts of Epichnellen ), which experienced its first peak in the 16th century. On the north side of the Ruppertskopf there is a popular vantage point with a view over the Georgental to the Wartburg .
