Rump bags
Ruptaschen referred to the Bessarabian class order at the time of belonging to Russia in the 19th century, the children of clergy or deacons as well as their descendants who had passed into the secular class. The Ruptaschen were on an equal footing with the Masiler class and were ranked among the Boyarunaschers .
The Ruptaschen had numerous privileges, but were not entirely exempt from taxes. They had to perform Fourier services and paid a tax for families . Corporal punishment could only be carried out on them if a judge gave them a verdict.
