Rus (forefather)

The forefather Rus is a legendary figure from Slavic mythology . Together with his brothers Čech and Lech , he is one of the legendary founders of Slavic nations. According to legend, Rus led his people to the territory of Russia and thus became the forefather of Russians , Russians , Ukrainians and Belarusians .

Similar to his brothers, who were supposed to found the nations of Bohemia or Poland on their present territory, it is a historically not proven figure, although it is mentioned in several chronicles (such as the Annales regni Francorum , the Chronicle of Dalimil , the Chronica Poloniae Maioris and others) is mentioned.
