Rushad Eggleston (born September 30, 1979 in Carmel-by-the-Sea , California ) is an American cellist , kazoo player, singer and songwriter.

Live and act

After winning a competition, Eggleston studied cello as a scholarship holder at Berklee College of Music . He was the leader of the band Tornado Rider , with whom he performed in San Francisco, at the Burning Man Festival and Magnolia Festival . As a member of the Fiddlers Four (with Michael Doucet , Darol Anger and Bruce Molsky ) he was nominated for a Grammy in 2002; with the Republic of Strings Angers he released two albums (2004, 2006). He was also a co-founder of the alternative folk bluegrass group Crooked Still , with which he recorded albums in 2002 and 2004. In 2005 he produced the video Chops & grooves: rhythmic explorations for bowed strings with Darol Anger and Casey Dreissen . The EP Playhouse of the Universe was created in 2006 in collaboration with the Wild Band of Snee . More recently, he recorded the albums The Rushad Eggleston Show (2013) and Very Advanced Sound Machine (2015). In 2015 he went on a tour with the classical guitarist Beppe Gambetta .

A trademark of Eggleston, who describes himself as the “ambassador of Sneth and wild cello goblin”, is the invention of a language and the imaginary Land of Sneth . As a cellist who also plays his instrument in the style of a fiddle , he teaches at fiddle and string camps on both the east and west coast of the USA.
