Russian Orthodox Church in Kazakhstan
The Russian Orthodox Church in Kazakhstan is one of the largest Russian Orthodox congregations outside of Russia . It is the second largest religious community in Kazakhstan , which mainly includes the Russians living in Kazakhstan .
The Metropolitan Diocese of Kazakhstan was founded on May 7, 2003 by the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church. Since March 5, 2010, Metropolitan Alexander has been chairman of the Metropolitan Diocese of Kazakhstan. On October 6, 2010, three new eparchies were established in the area: Pavlodar , Qostanai and Karagandy eparchies .
