The Russo-Swedish War of 1554–1557 ( Swedish Stora ryska kriget 1554–1557 ; Russian Русско-шведская война 1554–1557 ) was an armed conflict between the Russian Empire and the Kingdom of Sweden over Russian access to the Baltic Sea .
prehistory
In the run-up to the Livonian War , there were already disagreements between Sweden and Russia.
Course of war
The war began in June 1554 with the siege and bombardment of the Shlisselburg Fortress by Admiral Johan Brigge . In return, Russian troops tried to besiege Vyborg . However, neither side was able to bring about a decision.
Peace of Novgorod 1557
On March 25, 1557, the Second Peace of Novgorod was signed. This war did not change the course of the border.
