The Ruta de la Amistad (German: Path of Friendship ) is a sculpture path in Mexico City , Mexico .

history

The sculpture path has a total length of 17 kilometers, which goes back to the German-born Mexican sculptor and architect Mathias Goeritz . The sculpture path was built in preparation for the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City. All sculptures have monumental dimensions, the smallest is 7 meters long and the largest 22 meters. Goeritz was commissioned with this project by the architect Pedro Ramírez Vázques of the Mexican Olympic Organizing Committee in 1967 and 1968.
