Ruth Elizabeth Rouse

Ruth Elizabeth Rouse (born January 30, 1963 in St. David's , Grenada ) is a Grenadian ambassador . Since November 1, 2004, she has been the extraordinary and fully plenipotentiary permanent representative of her country to the United Nations .

biography

Rouse studied French and Spanish at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, with a Bachelor of Arts degree . She also completed a master’s degree in diplomacy at the University of Westminster, UK .

Ruth Elizabeth Rouse has been a member of the Grenada Foreign Service since 1982 and has held numerous offices and functions in this regard. Among other things, she was regional plenipotentiary at the High Commission of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States in Ottawa from 1990 to 1996 , protocol commissioner of the Grenadian government from 1996 to 1999 , and from 1999 to 2000 as high commissioner of Grenada at the Court of St. James's "Of the British Royal Court and from 2000 to 2005 non-resident High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa .
