Ruth Kestner-Boche

Ruth Kestner-Boche (born October 8, 1916 in Leipzig ; † November 17, 2015 ) was a German violinist and violin teacher .

Life

Kestner-Boche studied violin with Ferdinand Küchler (as his last student) in Leipzig. Then she worked as a professor at the Leipzig Conservatory . Her students included u. a. Klaus Hertel . Kestner-Boche was in lively dialogue with the Gewandhaus cellist August Eichhorn . She was made an honorary senator of the university in 1993.
