Ruth Leppla (born July 23, 1948 in Kaiserslautern ) is a German politician ( SPD ); from 2001 to 2016 she was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .

Education, work and family

Ruth Leppla was born and raised in Kaiserslautern. She passed her Abitur in 1967 at the BurgGymnasium Kaiserslautern .

Ruth Leppla has two children.

politics

In 1987 Ruth Leppla joined the SPD. From 1989 to 2012 she was a member of the Kaiserslautern City Council. From 1993 to 2012 she was a member of the board of the SPD city council group. She was co-opted on the city council until 2012, the SPD sub-district Kaiserslautern until 2016.

In the state elections in 2001 , 2006 and 2011 Ruth Leppla won the direct mandate in the Kaiserslautern I constituency and was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament until 2016. She is chair of the Equal Opportunities Committee. She is a full member of the Committee on Science, Continuing Education and Culture and the European Committee. She is a deputy member of the Interior Committee, Integration Committee, Economic Committee and Budget Committee. In the parliamentary group she was a member of the sports and tourism working groups.

voluntary work

She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the TU Kaiserslautern . She is on the board of directors of the Atlantic Academy. She also works as a board member of Lebenshilfe.
