Ruth Springer

Ruth Springer (born Ruth Hansen , also Ruth Springer-Andersen ; born July 23, 1946 in Husum ) is a former German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Ruth Springer completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk . She attended evening grammar school , studied pedagogy , mathematics and physics, became a teacher and worked at a secondary school for several years. In 1972 she joined the SPD. From 1976 to 1978 she was state chairman of the Young Socialists in Schleswig-Holstein .

In 1983 she was elected to the Landtag of Schleswig-Holstein in the state constituency of Kiel-Süd . She won the mandate again in 1987 and 1988 by direct election; In 1992 she was elected in the constituency of Kiel-Südwest. She was on various committees.

She was a member of the first committee of inquiry of the 13th electoral term , which investigated the so-called drawer affair as a result of the Barschel affair of 1987. She announced her resignation from the committee in March 1995 after the magazine Tango published the contents of tapped telephone calls by Klaus Nilius , the press spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group, including one with Ruth Springer. In it she is said to have made the considerations to let Reiner Pfeiffer , the trigger of the Barschel affair, anonymously advise to declare that he was affected so that he would not have to testify truthfully to the committee of inquiry.

In 1997 Ruth Springer became director of the North Rhine-Westphalian State Institute for Schools and Further Education in Soest . From there she moved to the Institute for School Development Research at the Technical University of Dortmund as General Manager .
