Ruth Whitaker

Ruth Reed Whitaker (* 13. December 1936 in Blytheville , Arkansas ; † 10. November 2014 in Fayetteville , Arkansas) was an American politician of the Republican Party and from 2001 to 2013 senator in the Senate of Arkansas .

After graduating from Heber Springs High School in Cleburne County , she attended Hendrix College in Conway , Arkansas. Prior to becoming a Senator, Whitaker served on the Cedarville City Council and was involved with the March of Dimes and the American Legion Auxiliary.
