In the winter transfer period 2009/10 he was loaned to league rivals FC Emmen , who took him over in the summer after helping to keep the league with twelve goals in 16 games. In January 2012, ter Heide moved to FC Zwolle on loan for six months before returning to FC Emmen in 2012. Since 2013, he plays for the SVZW Wierden in Dutch Zaterdag Hoofdklasse C .
