Rwanda Stock Exchange ( RSE ) is the full-time stock exchange of Rwanda . It is located in the capital Kigali and was founded on January 31, 2011.

founding

The official history of today's Rwanda Stock Exchange began with the IPO of Bralirwa, the country's largest brewery , in 2011 . It is one of the smallest and youngest stock exchanges in the world and does not yet have a computer-based exchange trading system. In the 60 m² trading room, twelve registered traders have the opportunity to pursue stock exchange trading five days a week from nine in the morning to twelve noon local time . On December 7, 2012, the RSESI ( Rwanda Stock Exchange Share Index ) was introduced, an independently determined share index . The total trading volume in November 2013 amounted to about 4 million US dollars . The Frankfurt Stock Exchange showed an entry in the order book of 80 billion US dollars in the same period .

The RSE is reportable to the Rwandan Capital Market Authority (CMA), formerly Capital Markets Advisory Council (CMAC).

Listed companies

So far, only a few companies are traded on the stock exchange:

Kenya Commercial Bank Group, Nation Media Group and the Uchumi Supermarkets are actually primarily traded on the Nairobi Stock Exchange.
