Ryuichi Yoshida

Ryūichi Yoshida ( Japanese 吉田 隆 一 , Yoshida Ryūichi ; born September 16, 1971 in Tokyo Prefecture ) is a Japanese jazz musician ( baritone saxophone , also flute , vocals ).

Ryuichi Yoshida played in the Japanese jazz and improvisation scene from the 1990s a. a. in the Satoko Fujii Orchestra East (with which first recordings were made in 1999), in the formations Blacksheep (with Goto Atsushi , Suga Dairo ), in the Satoko Fujii Orchestra Tokyo, in the Shibusashirazu Orchestra around Daisuke Fuwa ( Shibusai Kayou Taizen , 2012) and in the Prog - Rock and experimental band The Silence around the pianist Kazuo Ogino . In the field of jazz, Tom Lord lists him in six recording sessions between 1990 and 2010. In the 2010s, Yoshida continued to play in duos with drummer Ryusaku Ikezawa and pianist Mikio Ishida, as well as in a trio with Eiichi Hayashi and Aki Ono , and he also appeared as a soloist.
