Ryan Michael Kalish (* 28. March 1988 in Northridge , California ) is an American baseball player in Major League Baseball . He played his first game on July 31, 2010 for the Boston Red Sox . In 2011 and 2013, he was out of most games of the two seasons due to injury. Ryan Kalish was signed by the Chicago Cubs for the 2014-2016 MLB season . His defense position is in leftfield .
