Northridge is a district of the California metropolis Los Angeles and is located in the northwest of the San Fernando Valley .

Northridge is bordered by Granada Hills , Chatsworth , North Hills , Reseda , Porter Ranch, and Winnetka .
history
Northridge was called North Los Angeles until 1938 . The name change was suggested by Carl Dentzel , director of the Southwest Museum of Los Angeles.
In 1994 there was a strong earthquake, the Northridge earthquake .
