Linda Chisholm (born December 21, 1957 in Northridge , California ) is a former American volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career

Chisholm first played volleyball and softball at Birmingham High School in Los Angeles . From 1975 to 1977 she was a member of the volleyball team at the College of the Canyons in Valencia and from 1977 to 1981 she played for Pepperdine University in Malibu . With the US national team she was third at the World Cup in Peru in 1982 and second at the Pan American Games in Caracas in 1983 . In 1984 Chisholm won the silver medal with the national team at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles .

From 1986 to 1994 Chisholm played beach volleyball professionally on the national WPVA series and was victorious here 39 times with various partners. Later Chisholm also competed internationally and was second on the FIVB World Tour in 1992 with Angela Rock in Almería, Spain, and fourth in 1993 with Liz Masakayan in Rio de Janeiro . At the 1997 World Cup in Los Angeles , she competed with Debra Richardson and finished 17th.

After her playing days, Chisholm was a volleyball coach at Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles.
