Ryan Longwell (* 16th August 1974 in Seattle , Washington ) is a former American American football poker players on the position of the Kickers . He played eight years for the Green Bay Packers , five years for the Minnesota Vikings and in a play-off game for the Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League (NFL).

college

Longwell attended the University of California , on whose team he worked both as a kicker and as a punter . He celebrated athletic success in college football and also graduated with a bachelor's degree in English.

NFL

Green Bay Packers

In 1997, Ryan Longwell signed a contract with the Green Bay Packers without being in the NFL Draft . Previously, he was already under contract with the San Francisco 49ers , but remained without use. He reached the Super Bowl ( XXXII ) with the Packers , where he scored a field goal and three extra points. His contract expired in 2006 and was not renewed.

Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings secured the services of the then 31-year-old. In his second game for the Vikings, he was responsible for all points in the 16-13 win against the Carolina Panthers . He scored three field goals and threw a touchdown after a fake field goal attempt.

Seattle Seahawks

After the Seattle Seahawks kicker, Steven Hauschka, injured his calf in the play-off game against the Washington Redskins , the Seahawks signed Longwell on January 9, 2013 as a substitute. Longwell had not previously played a game in the 2012 season and was without a team. He kicked four extra points in the play-off game against the Atlanta Falcons , but the Seahawks lost 28:30. In August 2013, Longwell announced that he was retiring as a player for the Green Bay Packers.
