history

The village was named after the daughter Carolina of the landlord, Count Moltke, who was responsible for the development of the village. The first school building was erected around 1852. In addition to the courtyards, which shaped the place into a typical street village through their arrangement, there was a mill called Richlichmühle.

The place itself was largely populated by Protestant and German-born colonists . Ecclesiastically, the place initially belonged to Groß Drensen , then to Schönlanke , from the end of 1868 to Stieglitz and finally to the parish Theerofen . In 1930 a Catholic chapel was built. Since the introduction of the registry offices , the place belonged to the registry office Runau, from 1882 to the newly founded registry office Stieglitz.

Carolina itself belonged to a small part of the province of Posen , which also belonged to the German Empire after the First World War . From 1816 to 1920 Carolina was part of the Czarnikau district . In 1920, after the said district was dissolved, the place was incorporated into the newly formed network district, which belonged to the province of Grenzmark Posen-West Prussia . After the dissolution of the Grenzmark Posen-West Prussia province in 1938, Carolina belonged to the Pomerania Province .

In 1939 there were a total of 119 farms, each about five hectares.

During the expulsion of the German population by the Polish authorities in 1945, four people were shot, including the mayor and his wife.
