Dzierżążno Wielkie ( German  Groß Drensen ) is a village in the Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poland . It belongs to the municipality of Wieleń (Filehne) in the powiat Czarnkowsko-Trzcianecki (Czarnikau-Schönlanke district) .

Geographical location

The village is located in Greater Poland , about eleven kilometers north of the city of Wieleń (Filehne) and fourteen kilometers southeast of the city of Człopa (Schloppe) .

history

Groß Drensen was first mentioned in 1563. In 1595 the church was built as a linteled construction and replaced by a half-timbered building in 1778. The parish also included the places Klein Drensen and Hansfelde and, for a lesser time, Gornitz , Ivenbusch and Carolina . Since the introduction of the registry offices , the place also had its own registry office.

55 houses were mentioned as early as 1631. The population was 1,653, among others, of two mayors , two Krügern , nine full farmers fourteen , half-peasant , three Kossäten and a priest . Free farmers had been represented since 1830 and were provided with plenty of forest .

The farmers in the village were given the right to burn tar and the priest was given permission to clear a hoof free of charge and tax-free .

Groß Drensen itself belonged to a small part of the province of Posen , which also belonged to the German Empire after the First World War . From 1815 to 1887, Groß Drensen was part of the Czarnikau district . In 1887 the place was incorporated into the newly founded Filehne district. After the Filehner district was dissolved, the place was incorporated into the newly formed network district, which belonged to the province of Grenzmark Posen-West Prussia . After the dissolution of the Grenzmark Posen-West Prussia province in 1938, it belonged to the Pomerania Province .

Seventeen houses were partially burned down during the expulsion of the German population by the Polish authorities in 1945. Nine people were shot dead in the village.
