Rygge

Rygge is a former Norwegian municipality in the former province of Østfold (today Viken ) with around 15,000 inhabitants on an area of ​​73 km². On January 1, 2020, Rygge became part of the Moss municipality .

location

The place is 60 km south of Oslo . At a distance of 4 km southeast of the city is Moss Airport, Rygge (registration number RYG). The larger neighboring towns are Moss in the northwest (5 km) and Råde in the southeast (10 km). Rygge is on Europastrasse 6 .

Worth seeing

  • The Romanesque church of Rygge with round arches , built in gneiss and granite , dates from the middle of the 12th century. The altar was designed by Thomas Blix in the first half of the 18th century.
