The Rysumer Mühle is a three-storey, brick-built, octagonal gallery dutch in the Rundwarftendorf Rysum in the Krummhörn . The mill was built in 1895. Today it is a museum mill that can be visited. The technical equipment of the mill was repaired by an interest group and is functional.
history
The Rysum windmill was built in 1895 as a two-story gallery Dutchman. After a fire on May 12, 1917, it was raised by one floor in 1921, fitted with a cod-end and rebuilt with parts of a mill from Varel and put into operation. Until 1950 the mill was operated with wind power, until around 1960 with motor power. The mill was shut down in 1964. The technical equipment was dismantled and reused in the Bad Zwischenahner mill. In 1988, the Rysum interest group suggested that the mill should be restarted, which took place between 1989 and 1995. On September 30, 1995, the interest group, the current owner of the mill, announced the completion of the reconstruction. The cap of the mill is made of copper. The wing system consists of four sail gate wings, the mill technology is functional.
